When I joined in 2019, Oriental was the third-ranked bank in Puerto Rico, in the middle of a major digital transformation and operating in a market still recovering from Hurricane Maria.

The challenge wasn’t just to reposition the bank. It was to do it in a way that felt real to people.

“More Than Ready” became that starting point. Not as a campaign, but as a signal. The bank and the island moving forward together. From there, the work evolved into “Yes I Can,” shifting the narrative from institutional readiness to personal empowerment.

What started as a platform became a system that carried the brand through an acquisition, a pandemic, and ultimately a shift from third to second in market.

  • Built and evolved the brand platform (More Than Ready → Yes I Can), shifting from institutional voice to human empowerment

  • Defined narrative, messaging, and identity systems across retail, commercial, and corporate, integrating digital transformation into the story
